My dissertation presents a normative theory of victimhood, arguing that recognizing one's status as a victim can serve as a positive political resource. I propose ways in which both victims of oppression and non-victims should approach victimhood in political contexts to ensure constructive politics. My research has been supported by the Duke Kenan Institute for Ethics and the Kwanjeong Educational Foundation.
